Spacehawk, Basil Wolverton’s most distinctive and initially most successful science fiction character, burst forth from the cosmos in June 1940. A little over two years later (after 30 adventures that filled 259 comics pages) he performed his last superheroic act — battling Japanese and Nazis in the American war effort.
