Résumé: Mid-November 1989: Receiving a message from his Uncle Ho that the Red Chinese government is moving against the Shaolin temple where he studied kung fu, Hayashi Kato leaves the City for Hong Kong. He is met at the airport by Ulysses Chow, a friend of his uncle, who takes him to two others, Carter Lin and his sister Redgrave. The siblings show the two the beginning of the surreptitious route into the People's Republic, but stay in Hong Kong "to continue the fight for democracy." As Kato and Ulysses come within sight of the temple, they are confronted by Communist troops.
